I think 3 nights is enough

First of all, if your`e not one of Microsoft`s inhertors.. prepare yourself for a lot of walking because the water taxi there charges around 100 euro

How to get there
If you`re getting to venice with a car, park it at Venezia Center Station and take a water buss from there to San Marcos
If you`re taking a flight, first take a shuttle or a buss from the airport to the center and then change to the water buss

Where should you stay
I recommend you to book your stay at Violino D`oro Hotel
Beautiful design, kind service at the reception, offers a good breakfast and located in the center, only 10 min walk from the main square

Attractions
Venice is full of boutique stores and luxury brands, for those who actually did inherit Microsoft
Good and cheap meals you can find at Rossopomodoro restaurant, next to the main square and through the rest of it`s street

I recommend you to visit Ponte dei Sospiri and Rialto bridge
Next to Rialto there is an ice cream shop called Amorino which designed their ice cream shaped like a flower
Honestly ? I was disappointed, it looks much better in the pictures.. but still worth to try

Another day you tour the 2 famous islands of Venice : Murano (the one with the glass museum) and Burano (the one with the colorful houses) but make sure to purchase the daily ticket which costs 20 euro instead of paying each ride individually for 7.5 euro

For those of you who don`t have a seasickness, there is a pirates style ship called Galleon Dinner Cruise that offers a sunset cruise including candlelight dinner for 100 euro per person

And of course the Gondolas
Pros : Good atmosphere, beautiful pictures
Cons : Short, Expensive
Anyway I highly recommend you to go for it, if you`re already in Venice
