Recommended season
The dry season, when there are less rainfall are between November-April
There could still be some showers sometimes but nothing major
This is the more touristic season, and according to that the prices are rising
The wet season is the warmer one, between May-October, when the rainfall are significantly increasing
During the summer, between July-September, there could be monsoons in the Caribbean side, so pay attention to the forecast

Recommended time
Two weeks of fun

How do we get there
From the Cancun airport I recommend you to take one of the ADO busses which will drop you in the 5th avenue (the center) and save the money for the taxi

Important
You withdraw money only from ATM`s of banks, never in the street

The prices for the attractions are pretty much the same at every company, but there are a bit expensive so prepare yourself

Where should you stay
I personally traveled alone and looked for a nice and cheap place to sleep at
I recommend you to go to The Yak Hostel
Young atmosphere, clean dorms, kind service, cool design and centeral location
This is NOT parties hostel, so it`s a bit quite comparing to the others

Attractions
I took an organized tour with a company called Viva Go Deal to Las Colorades, where the pink lakes, and was really disappointed
Only 15 min from the whole day where in the lakes, we didn`t have much time to take pictures of ourselves and afterwards they took us to this ugly beach for a lame party with no food no music and only 1 bottle of vodka for the whole group
To sum up it wasn't such a fun day so if you can rent a car and go by yourself, or just look for another company, that will be better

They will also offer you a daily trip to Bacalar lagoon, I don`t recommend you to go for it because the only cool thing to do at this boring place is the sunrise sup
that is why it`s important to book a night there
I stayed at the Green Monkey Hostel, which also organized the trip the next day and it was really fun
The place itself is not such a good hostel but that`s okay for just one night and then get the hell out of there

The Chichen Itza I recommend you to do with a tour guide who will take care of your long drives and explain you about the history of the place
It`s an hour tour and then an hour for taking pictures

I recommend you to clear a whole day for the 5th avenue which is full with restaurant, souvenirs shops and fashion stores

Wake up early one day and go watch the sunrise at the beach, worth the frustration of getting out of bed

It is recommended to visit the water park called Xel-Ha and the zipline park called Explore

Go one day with the local buss (that stops at Tulum) to Cenote Azul

There is a possibility to take the public transport to the Holbox Island (a buss from the main station to Chiquila and then a ferry) but it`s a pretty much boring place
at the right season people say you can see plankton glow in the water
to me it didn't happen so it was an unnecessary trip comparing to the headache of getting there

Night life in Playa
The famous Coco Bongo Club
Dancing and circus style shows combined with good music and lots of alcohol, what can be wrong ? Ask about a bracelet that gives you a deal with both entrance and drinks
BUT if you get a chance to spend a night in Cancun, people say the Coco Bongo Club in there is better
Plus, there is the Mandala Club and others which are located on the streets next to the 5th avenue
