Semuc Champey

There is a fear of Malaria in the region, don`t drink water from the tap or eat vegetables

Recommended season
The dry season, between November-May, is the more touristic one.. therefor the prices will rise as well
There are not supposed to be major rainfalls
The wet season, between June-October, is when both the temperatures and the rains are increasing
This is a less touristic season so the trip will be cheaper

I think in this area 2 nights will be enough

How do we get there
The arrival to the reserve takes place through Lankin

Where should we stay
I passed the resorts which are located next to the reserve and booked 2 nights at Vista Verde Hostel in Lankin.. an hour drive in a track in which I have to say I felt like a horse in a cage but.. fun experience
The hostel is pretty cheap and got the most amazing view of the jungle
BUT the WIFI and hot showers are only on specific hours.. usually during the evening when people get back from the trip

You got to do to cave tour when you first get there, an amazing experience
An hour walk in a total darkness, you hold candles and it looks beautiful
The guide will let you slide the waterfalls inside and swim in the water, which was`nt cold like I accepted
Afterwards you will travel through the rest of the reserve
DON`T pass the climbing to the observation in the end
