Tikal

There is a fear of Malaria in the region, don`t drink water from the tap or eat vegetables

Recommended season
The dry season, between November-May, is the more touristic one.. therefor the prices will rise as well
There are not supposed to be major rainfalls
The wet season, between June-October, is when both the temperatures and the rains are increasing
This is a less touristic season so the trip will be cheaper

Recommended time
I think in this area 2 nights will be enough

How do we get there
Usually travelers come to Tikal from the town Flores

Where should we sleep
I booked 2 nights at the Green Monkey Hostel in Flores, where I met the friends who came with me to the trip the next day
Nice and clean dorms
Outside you can enjoy the lake and the souvenirs shops

The pyramids tour
They will offer you a sunset tour but I personally passed because I wanted to be awake and really enjoy the trip
The hostel arranged for us the shuttle and the guide, and we payed for the entrance at the gate.. they DO NOT accept credit cards so make sure you got enough money
When you will arrive the guides will divide you into 2 groups : spanish speakers and english speakers
That`s a great thing because that way the tour is more intimate and quick
The guide will explain to you all about the history of the place, and you could even climb a few of the pyramids.. I highly recommend you to do that because the view of the jungle from the top is breathtaking
and if you will have lucky maybe you will get the chance to even see a few animals
A very impressive site, I celebrated my birthday there and it was a cool experience for sure
